The Vanished Village was written by Dunia Berg in 1995, and first published in October of that year. It was followed by the publication of "The Exile of the Legion" in 1998, which deals with the aftermath of Daurne's fall, and "Lachesis", in 2005, a story that deals with the return of the boy Arden to his beloved lost village.

Berg has also published a third short story collection, titled "The Double Bind" (2003), which contains all the stories from the trilogy together in one volume, and which will have been over to excited!
